An Invitation to Join
Us... We invite you to compete in three days of exciting racing action at the 19th edition of North Sails Race Week. Last year's record fleet of 171 entries had more boats and crews from more states then in the history of the regatta. All competitors had a truly great experience to remember. Over the years, we have strived to deliver what our clients want in a regatta. Many have asked for more racing....so we are adding two more races to the series and changing the schedule slightly. The new schedule has 2 races on Friday starting at 2:30pm, 3 races on Saturday with the final 2 races on Sunday. For our PHRF competitors, we anticipate another year of tight racing as our continuing effort to equalize the boats in each PHRF class has led to a truly competitive balance in these classes. On the one design front, many of our invited classes are experiencing growth, so we are looking forward to more great competition in these classes. We are excited to be hosting the 2003 Farr 40, J/105 and Schock 35 Pacific Coast Championships. Long Beach's wonderful sailing conditions have long been a major attraction to racing owners around the world. It's been the incredible level of talent, world class race management and intense competition, combined with terrific parties ashore, however, which have accounted for Race Week's reputation. North Sails Race Week promises to repeat these successes again this year. We are pleased to welcome back long-time sponsors, North Sails, McLube and our official timekeeper and new Day Sponsor, Nautica Watches. We encourage you to patronize those companies that support your sport and enable us to maintain the standards you've come to expect. Please mark your calendar - June 27 - 29, 2003 (and remember the 2:30pm start time on Friday) - and plan to join us for another regatta to remember.
