The North Sails Race Week Notice of Race contains specific information on the 2002 J/120 North American Championships.

Thursday, June 27

1600-1900    Registration for specific information (Seaport Marina Hotel Lobby)

 

Friday, June 28

0900            Registration for specific information (Hotel Ballroom)  

1000            Skipper’s Meeting  (Hotel Ballroom)

1300            Attention Signal for Racing  (Race #1)   (Div. 3 location, first race only)

1600            Attention Signal for Racing  (Race #2)   (Div. 1 location for all other races)

1800            After-Racing Party  (Hotel Poolside)  

1830            Dinner  (with advance purchase – see NOR Part 1, paragraph 8)

 

Saturday, June 29  

1130             Attention Signal for Racing (Race #3 followed by Race #4)

TBD              J/120 Class Dinner  (Time and Place TBD)

             

Sunday, June 30

Class Rules

The J/120 Class Association Rules, as amended by the Southern California Fleet Four Amendments, November 2001 Update, will apply for the 2002 J/120 North American Championship except:

Paragraphs 3.1 thru 3.4 of the J/120 Class Association Rules pertaining to Member Helmsmen will apply.  Paragraph 14 of the Southern California Fleet Four Amendments, November 2001 Update will not apply.

Paragraph 16 of the Southern California Fleet Four Amendments, November 2001 Update, is modified as follows - an owner is permitted to leave the dodger and its fittings and the forward cabin door in place.

Paragraph 17 of the Southern California Fleet Four Amendments, November 2001 Update, is waived.  Carbon fiber spars and/or booms are permitted without correcting weights.

Paragraph 18 of the Southern California Fleet Four Amendments, November 2001 Update, and Paragraph 7.1 of the J/120 Class Association Rules will not apply.  Maximum crew permitted is 10, and there will be no maximum weight limit.

Paragraph 3.1 of the J/120 Class Association Rules is waived for owners that are members in good standing in a local J/120 Fleet.
