We invite you to compete in the 2001 edition of North Sails Race Week. Last year’s record fleet of 170 entries enjoyed some of the best racing in the 16-year history of the regatta. With many of our invited classes experiencing growth, we look forward to more great competition and the prospects of a second consecutive record fleet.

Long Beach’s wonderful sailing conditions have long been a major attraction to racing owners around the world. It’s been the incredible level of talent and intense competition, combined with awesome parties ashore, however, which has accounted for Race Week’s reputation. North Sails Race Week promises to repeat these successes again this year.

We are excited to welcome back long-time sponsors, North Sails and McLube. We encourage you to patronize those companies that sponsor this regatta and help make it possible for us to put on the event for you. In this regard, there are two individuals that I would sincerely like to thank – Robert Shaw and Alex Hern. Given the current sponsorship climate with corporate America and sailing, we introduced a new donor program, which is aimed at helping us attain financial stability for the regatta. Their company, SVIC (Silicon Valley Investment Capital), is our program’s initial donor member – thank you Robert and Alex! We welcome you to ask about the benefits associated with our donor program.

The tradition of excellence continues with Yachting Key West Race Week producer Peter Craig and his company Premiere Racing returning to co-manage the event with Golison & Golison. Our outstanding Race Committees and experienced shoreside team are fully prepared to provide you with the racing and fun that sailors have come to expect at North Sails Race Week.

Please mark your calendar – June 22 - 24, 2001 – and plan to join us for another regatta to remember. For regatta and logistics updates, please visit our web page at www.Premiere-Racing.com.
