If you have used, unwanted sails, you can bring them with you to Miami and donate them to Sails for Sustenance -- a Miami-based not-for-profit that collects sails and distributes them to fishermen on the southwestern coast of Haiti (the poorest nation in the Western Hemisphere).  Fishermen there outfit hand-made workboats with make shift sails (often scraps of discarded rice and flour bags pieced together).  Sails in any condition are a huge improvement.

Sails for Sustenance (www.sailsforsustenance.org) will send representatives directly to the Acura Grand Prix regatta site to retrieve the sails and provide a receipt for your tax-deductible donation.  If you plan to bring a donation, contact Michael Carcaise by e-mail sailsforsustenance@gmail.com , or telephone at (305) 321-8273.
