Racing for Acura Miami Race Week 2006 will take place on the Ocean and on Biscayne Bay.

Miami Beach Marina is the official site and race headquarters for the Ocean Courses.

The new Shake-A-Leg facility in Coconut Grove is the official site and race headquarters for the Biscayne Bay courses.

Premiere Racing is committed to provide race week participants with "one stop shopping" for all of your regatta logistics needs here on the event web site. We are making best efforts to secure discount options for those boats competing in the event. This is a work in progress with additional options to be identified later.

We are working to bring you more information and details.

Please be patient and stay tuned for more logistics updates in the coming weeks.

Miami Beach Marina (MBM) is a state of the art marina that will have as many as 100 slips available for race week. It is the closest marina to the ocean courses, located just inside Government Cut. Maximum draft for MBM is 11-1/2 feet. Best efforts will be made to locate one design classes together at the marina.

Acura Miami Race Week 2006
ETCHELLS UPDATE
November 20, 2005

From Peter Craig; Race Chairman:

Like you, we at Premiere Racing recently received the news that the Jaguar Series will be happening in its entirety as scheduled. A great piece of news for the Etchells class!

As I mentioned to last year’s competitors in a separate email, we will definitely have Etchells racing on our Biscayne Bay circle next March at Acura Miami Race Week (3 days of racing / March 10-12, 2006).

I just returned from Miami where I met with Tom Piper and Dave Brennan at Biscayne Bay YC. The Shake-A-Leg Miami facility - Race Headquarters for Acura Miami Race Week - was virtually undamaged by Hurricane Wilma. While there was significant damage to the BBYC docks, the club is already up and running and the inner basin will be operational prior to the Piana Cup.

It is our hope that those Etchells that race in the Jag Series and are entered in our event will be able to store their boats at BBYC following the last Jaguar Series weekend and use the inner basin for in water rafting during the regatta as they did in 2005. We discussed these issues with Tom and Dave in Miami. At this point in time, this looks like the likely scenario. Only an early start with the new dock installation at BBYC would preclude this from happening. Tom should have more definitive word at your Piana Cup on December 10 & 11. We will have alternative Etchells storage and staging options in place should this not be the case.

We very much hope to build on last year’s 30-boat Etchells class for Premiere Racing’s second Miami event. We will post relevant Etchells logistics information on the event web site as it becomes available.

I hope that you will be able to join us next March. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to call (781-639-9545) or email me.

Best regards,

Peter
