of Race
March 9 – 12, 2006
Miami, Florida USA
Acura Miami Race Week 2006
is an international regatta that will provide both one design and handicap
racing. This event will be organized and conducted by Premiere Racing, Inc.,
which will have the authority to reject or rescind the entry of any boat
before the start of the first race.
The fleet will be divided into
divisions and classes at the discretion of the Race Committee.
Part 1
of this Notice deals with general administrative information and
Part 2
with the Rules and Conditions of Race Week.

This is a dual venue event
with two separate racing areas and headquarters.
The Ocean divisions
will include PHRF, IRC and One Design classes, including the inaugural
Transpac 52 Global Championship. The Ocean divisions are headquartered at
the Miami Beach Marina.
The Biscayne Bay division
will have as many as four classes and is headquartered at the Shake-A-Leg
facility in Coconut Grove. Preliminary Bay classes include Melges 24,
Etchells and J/24. |

2 RULES
2.1 The regatta will
be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS)
2005-2008, the 2006 IRC Rules, the PHRF Rules and Regulations as adopted and
amended by the Premiere Racing PHRF Consortium, and the 2006 Miami Race Week
Safety Requirements (to be posted on the event web site).

The inaugural Transpac 52 Global Championship brings added
excitement to Acura Miami Race Week 2006. We welcome what is sure to be a
record international fleet for a championship format that will include
both a coastal and distance race on the beautiful waters off Miami Beach.
We again offer two venues for racing and shoreside activities. The
Ocean divisions off Miami Beach will feature big boat one design and
handicap racing. The Biscayne Bay division again welcomes the Melges
24, Etchells and smaller classes which are better suited for racing on
the bay.
The 5 star Miami Beach Marina and the modern Shake-a-Leg
facility in Coconut Grove will serve as your headquarters for the two
venues. Post race socials and daily prizegivings will take place at each
location.
Premiere Racing’s Industry Partners lend their support to
Acura Miami Race Week as well as our storied Key West event. Please be
sure to thank these industry leaders with your continued business. They
are truly making a difference with both events.
