Official Notice and Conditions of Race
January 16-20, 2006
Key West, Florida USA
Acura Key West 2006 is an international regatta
that will provide both individual and team competition. This
event will be organized and conducted by Premiere Racing, Inc.,
which will have the authority to reject or rescind the entry of
any boat before the start of the first race. An International
Jury will interpret the rules and conditions of the race and
decide any protests. The fleet will be divided into divisions
and classes at the discretion of the Race Committee.

2 RULES
2.1 The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The
Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS) 2005-2008, the 2005 IRC Rules, the
PHRF Rules and Regulations as adopted and amended by the Key
West PHRF Consortium, and the 2006 Key West Safety Requirements.

It is with great pleasure that I invite you to the19th edition of race
week – Acura Key West 2006. Premiere Racing is honored to be
able to offer boat owners from around the world a week of unparalleled
competition and shoreside fun. The third week of January is etched into
every racing sailor’s calendar with “Key West” - the southernmost point in
the continental United States - the only place to be.
During the past five years, an average of over 300 boat owners have
brought their boats and crews to Key West, Florida, an ideal sailing venue
featuring reliable breezes and warm, azure waters. If you’ve raced with us
in the past, you know that the competition and the camaraderie are
unsurpassed. If you are contemplating making the trip for the very first
time, please know that we will do our utmost to make it a special week for
you.
Our Sponsors and Industry Partners enable Premiere Racing to
produce an event that will again meet the high standards boat owners have
come to expect. We are very pleased to announce Acura as the
new Title Sponsor. With naming rights for Key West and Miami race weeks,
the combined-regatta Acura Trophy is destined to be one of the most sought
after awards on the international circuit.
One design racing in 2006 will be highlighted by the Swan 45 Gold Cup,
and record numbers from the Transpac 52, J/105 and Melges 24
classes. Handicap racing will include the customary strong PHRF
fleet joined by a sizable IRC contingent for their inaugural
National Championship.
We are grateful for the continued support from the Florida Keys
Tourist Development Council, Mount Gay Rum,
Nautica Watches, Lewmar, Samson Rope Technologies, B&G and our
official regatta site – the Historic Seaport at the Key West Bight.
Premiere Racing’s Industry Partner Program enters its 5th
