We are in sequence for the M32 start

1227H: breeze is 8-10 knots now

1225H: M/Y Starlight has been out with us all day. Lots of big white fluffy clouds now ... breeze is 020 ... dropping AP at 12:29 ... the barge has cleared the area

1219H: It is now 12:15 ... It seems the schooner Liberty wants to play with the barge now ... she needs to stay clear as well. There were some reports of spectators boats getting TOO close to the competitors in the last race ... also noticed a lot of disturbed air at the bottom gate caused by the heli. Yep, the barge has stopped because of the schooner ... may be a few more minutes of postponement until the large vessels can move.

1214H: We have a barge on the course at the weather mark ... might have to go to AP to figure out what we are going to do ... the barge is working and is moving now ... very slowly ... we are going into a short postponement. They need a few more minutes to clear the zone.

1116H: M32s are rounding the bottom mark .... Barbarians 87 at 11:10, followed by Calvi 81, Banshee 76, Leenabarca 83, and New Wave 73. It took 3 minutes for all M32s to round the bottom mark

1111H: we have approx 66 boats on the course ... first M24 shoot is white, heck, they are all white WTF 22, Blu Moon 16, Bailout 18, Joe Fly 39, and Party Girl 41

1104H: looks like most of the fleet is going left, 045 reported from the top mark ... they seem to be jibbing half way down.

1101H: First shoot is out on the m32 and it's bright pink ... J105s are starting right now and they are all clear. That means it took the M32s 20 minutes to sail to the top mark. Other shoots are white, white, gray, and white. That would translate to Barbarians 87, Star 32, Calvi 81, Banshee 76, and Leenabarca 83

1054H: AND they're off ...Giacomel Audi 42 was the only one over early and they have come back to clear the line ... breeze is now at 12 knots

OK maybe it's not as warm as I previously reported ... bit chilly in the shade with the breeze up

1047H: Inside 30 seconds for Prep down for M24 class

1045H: Back in sequence ... 30 seconds to prep down- start your recorders ... most of the fleet has worked down toward the pin as they are trying to stay behind the line ... and they are off. 0956H: Taboo just checked in and one of the crew lost his RED hat overboard. They circled around and recovered nicely .. RC applauds.

0953H: 070 degrees at 7.5 knots ... breeze should go a little left. We have George from Commanders on board again today

0946H: div 2 Signal boat is on station ... 99% blue skies ... yippee, yippee, yippee

0922H: 065-075 degrees at 9:17am

0916H: Dive 2 had a special awards presentation at the dock this morning which was a real hoot. Ross was given a square of non-slip panty draw liner as a prize for falling in the water. David Brennan explained that we could not afford to buy him a pair of shoes, but he could cut and paste the non-skid to the bottom of the shoes that failed him yesterday. John was awarded a sand bucket and scooper for the next time his boats decides to sink at the dock. And Barbara Neville was awarded a pack of neon colored erasers. The past days have been a timers nightmare with all the APs that went up over the past couple of days. Hopefully the wind will not swing around as much today, or at least not during the starting sequence.

Jenn .... that's PANTRY ... not Panty .... we are on the move and its a bit bumpy up on the bridge.

What a Beautiful day for sailboat racing!!!!! Cool to us, but if your racing and moving around alot it couldn't be better.

0906H: Good Morning ... Day4 of KWRW ....9AM Harbor start announcement has just been broadcasted to the fleet. It is Lewmar Day. About 5% of the racers are already on the course, the rest are filing out of the marina. They are looking good. 1331H: These finishes are NOT official but here they come M32s are Red 84 ...with a good lead ... New Wave 73 ... Banshee 76 ... another break ...Leenabarca 83 ... Star 32

1324H: M24s bottom roundings Joe Fly 39...UKA 43...Ful Throttle 33... Bailout 18... Blu Moon 16

1316H: M32s rounding's at the bottom mark 2nd time Red 84... New Wave 73...Banshee 76... Leenabarca 83 ... Star 32

1313H: With SO many boats going around the race track it is tricky staying with the different packs and which rounding and which mark ... that's why you get bombarded with roundings.

M24 roundings at the top Joe Fly 39... UKA 43...Full Throttle 33... Bailout 18 ... Blu Moon 16

1309H: j105s rounding the bottom mark are Another Hazard 40 ... Max Power 90 ... Big Booty 58 ...Tenacious 54 ... Eclipse 50. Rum at Six wrapped the spin and seems to be leaving the course.

1307H: M24 rounding the bottom mark Joe Fly 39 ... UKA 43... Blu Moon 16...Full Throttle 33...X Carloan 23 THEN M32s rounding the top mark Red 84... New Wave 73 ...Banshee 76 ...Leenabarc 83... Star 32 THEN J105s rounding the top mark Another Hazard 40...Max Power 90...Big Booty 58 ... Tenacious 54... Caress 59

1245H: First M32 weather mark is Red 84...Calvi 81 ...New Wave 73... Lake Effect 78 ...Nitemare 75

1239H: The buffalos have calmed down. Looks like another course change will be happening

1236H: Signal boat is on the move to the top of the course and will be finishing boats up there. The weather is cooler but clear with 60% blue skies ... probably the most blue we've seen yet

1234H: J105s have started and are heading to the weather mark ... all clear

1229H: AND Rumors made the start !!!! Yippee

1223H: The M24s are heading toward the weather mark ... all clear

1216H: M24 Rumor 46 missed the first race in is trying to make it to the course for the second .. warning signal for M24 will be 12:17 ... will he make it ??

1214H: Weather mark boat reported that another melges snagged the mark and spun off ... they ran right into it not giving themselves enough room to clear. Zen happens. The action just keeps happening, so much of it that the heli might be getting TOO close for comfort. AND the M32s are off to the weather mark again ... all clear

1204H: RC is setting cause 5 ... 1.7nm and 1.5nm .. bearing 035 ... wind is now down to about 10 knots ... M32 warning will be at 12:07

1203H: we had to give up one of our mark boats to Div 1. Weather mark 2 (the shorter leg mark boat) now has to come to assist in the finishes. That leaves Weather mark 1 to guard the second top rounding for the M32 and then slide down to the shorter top mark for the M24 and J105 roundings. This all seems to be timing out perfect so far ... I've not missed any roundings.

1201H: What you missed while I was offline ... RC moved the shorter course from 1.4nm from yesterday to 1.5nm for the M24 and J105s to give the M24s move room at the leeward mark. The M32s and M24 were rounding together. The M24s should be happier sailing in clearer air, it seems to be working out much better. The other difference from yesterday is that since we are no longer using a centerline boat.

1157H: M32 to finish Star 32 ... Leenabarca 83 ...Red 84....Flat Stanley 71...Calvi 81 M24s to finish UKA 43 ...Giacomel Audi 42 ...KO Sailing 38 ...WTF 22 ....Pacemaker 35 J105s to finish Max Power 90 ... 1149H: M24 rounding at the leeward gate Giacomel Audi 42 ... Team Pacemaker 35 ...UKA 43 ...KO Sailing 38 ... Monsoon 31

1111H: M24 top roundings Giacomel Audi 42 ...Team Pacemaker 35 ... KO Sailing 38 ...Millewa Milluna 37 ... Monsoon 31

Weather mark boat is splashing at 1.7 nm at 275. RC is removing center line boat for the M24 class ... ARKLE CAN134 got hung up on their anchor line and not enough time to get in position again.

1005H: Div 2 has twenty Melges 32, thirty-four Melges 24, and thirteen J105s. Looking down the list of names, I don't really see any that would pose a problem if they were announced at the awards presentation. There are still a number of very creative names that we have gotten a good laugh over this morning. We will be watching to see what these clever people actually look like. 245 degrees at 9 knots which will tend to go right as the race progresses

0955H: we are very lucky to aboard George Caras, from Commanders Weather, helping us make all the right decisions. He is calling for a couple of showers before we leave the course today, with stronger breeze coming in later ... hence, we will try to run two races and get everyone back to the dock before the stronger one hits. Looking around right now the breeze is 10knots at 245 degrees, about 35% cloud cover. About 50% of the competitors have checked in.

0951H: Div2 morning update - Day one of Acura KeyWest Race Week 2009 ... we arrived at the dock this morning to find a crowd of people looking at our sinking mark boat. The water was up to the center console and several people were bailing. The problem was simply, thank goodness, it seemed there was still some construction debris in the self bailer. The owner had just rebuild and painted ...

He nearly had a heart attack when he saw the crowd of people looking at HIS boat. He is doing much better now.

0941H: We just anchored ... it was a bit rocky on the way out and now that we are settled in I will attempt to get caught up on the events of the morning
